Thursday, July 16 2026 Proverbs 3:5
Hey friends! Just a heads up…I yap a lot in this one 🙂
If I’m being fully transparent right now, this year has been absolutely insane. In good ways… and in not so good ways. I’ve gained wonderful friends in Christ and have gotten to work in so many new environments, and very recently grown stronger in my faith! But at the same time I lost a friendship that was very near and dear to my heart very unexpectedly, and I am no longer on the path that I was on career wise. Through some points during this season, I’ve doubted God, His judgment, His plan, and even His existence.
I know that sounds bad, but it’s real. It’s also really hard to admit. However, I didn’t start this blog to tell everyone my walk with Christ is just sunshine and rainbows, because it’s not. Giving my life to Jesus is truly the best and hardest thing I have ever done. But I know myself without God, and I know myself with Him. And I’d choose me with Him absolutely any day of the week no questions asked.
Putting your trust in God is a lot easier said than done. I find myself questioning if He really has a plan for me, even though deep down I know for a fact that He does. I often show my pride and stubbornness by leaning on my own understanding and thinking that I don’t need help. Wow, I wonder how that turns out for me! Although, I have learned to realize that the hardest seasons are when God is working on myself and my heart the most.
Proverbs 3:5 (ESV) says “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” This verse emphasizes a complete reliance on God, which is a major theme throughout the Bible, and it should be a major theme throughout our lives. Our limited knowledge and wisdom has absolutely no comparison to our all knowing God. I feel like sometimes we forget, He did in fact create us, knows every single thought we possess and has a plan for every single one of us.
Being honest with God in prayer during these times in distrust and difficulty with letting go of our own plan is very important. He loves when we are honest with him, it helps grow our relationship and trust with Him. He loves you, and you are never alone when walking in Christ. In Jesus holy name, Amen ❤
